When you think of Africa, you think of Safaris, wildlife, adventure sports, lakes and rivers, uniquely African culture, exotic plants and birds ... and guess what? Zambia has it all!

You can help the community in a wide variety of projects, from conservation with lions, to teaching children in schools and orphanages, to coaching sports. You can also gain work valuable experience on an internship - and all this close to the magnificent Victoria Falls!

Lion Conservation and Research in Livingstone
Extremely close encounters with Lions! The location is close to the famous Victoria Falls. This is a unique project where you can work with these magnificent animals in a Game Reserve - an unbelievable experience!
Your work will assist in helping this project to continue and, over the long term, will also hopefully contribute to preventing the decrease in the lion population in Africa.

Medical Work Experience Internship in Livingstone
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a Clinic catering to a rural community that sees over 1,200 outpatients per month. You'll observe experts and learn how they work in Zambia.
The clinic is a full service medical facility operating under the Ministry of Health. They offer antenatal services as well as labor and delivery and child health. They are a recognized HIV centre offering ART (antiretroviral therapy) services, with over 600 patients receiving medicines. They also provide community based mobile ART and Home Based Care and are a referral centre for the other rural health centres in the surrounding areas.

Teach Underprivileged Children in Schools in Livingstone
Teach a range of subjects like English, Maths or Sports, to disadvantaged children aged between 2 and 16 years. The children are very poor and the schools really appreciate your help. You can also teach Drama, Dance, Music, Sports or Arts & Crafts - the kids love it!
You'll normally assist the teachers to start with, but depending on your ability, you may be given complete control of a particular class or group.

Teach Orphans in a School in Livingstone
Teach orphans in a school that is quite small and very basic, but makes you feel part of the family immediately! The school has approximately 57 boys and 68 girls between the ages of 6 and 18.
You'll normally assist the teachers with informal teaching to start with, but, depending on your ability, you may be given complete control of a particular class or group. You can teach English or any other subjects, as well as assisting with sports during games periods.

Coach Sports to Children in Schools in Livingstone
We teamed up with the Ministry for Youth and Sport to establish a programme to coach a variety of sports to underprivileged children in schools in Livingstone, very close to the awesome Victoria Falls! Sports you can coach include Football, Rugby, Cricket, Volleyball, Netball & Basketball.
You don't need any qualifications, just a good knowledge of your sport and a passion to pass your skills on to deserving children.

It is an unbelievable experience to go down the river on a boat and watch a herd of elephant bathing in the shallows and throwing water in their with their trunks while they keep a wary eye on you to ensure you don't get too close to their babies - it's an experience you never forget. I never have!
